HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX..........hope it is a great day!!

Nothing much exciting during the day (however I did workout!!).  There was a Boeing Team Building Meeting at Boya.  Again, we ate outside and watched the sunset.........right on the sea.  What a view.  Love the team building meetings, no talk of work (OK, well a little) just everyone being themselves and enjoying the company of each other.

Another relaxing day for us.  We didn't do much but Mark and Sylvia did come visit for a few hours.  First time Sylvia had seen the apartment and she really liked it.  They brought us some yummy cakes!!

Then we had dinner at Yulia with a bunch of Boeing folks and a couple of guys from IAI.  It was a truly beautiful night, we sat outside and watched the sun go down.  Good food, good friends and beautiful view, right on the sea!

Now I Got It Right!

Roly started out in Israel in Kiriat Shmona in upper Galilee at Kfar Szold Kibbutz.  He was there from January 1971 until August 1973.  He then moved to Kfar Vitkin to attend Haddasa Neurim school from August 1973 until June 11, 1975 when he moved to the states!!  The place I showed you by the Pancake House was the school (Haddasa Neurim).  The place we visited with people was the kibbutz.  :)

Today, Roly and I went to Jerusalem.  The day was not as beautiful as others, it was cold and raining.  We were a bit lost at first but the drive around was nice and informational.  We walked through the Tower of David, lots of ruins and interesting history.  I continue to be amazed and confused.......trying to put all the time periods together.  We then walked through the old city; I was a bit disappointed, felt it was very commercial.  Everyone trying to pull you into their shop to buy their stuff.  We did enjoy falafal and schwarma while walking in the old city!!

We also visited the wailing wall which was a site to see.  Beautiful and very moving.  Unfortunately, due to Shabbot, I was not able to take any pictures.

Today we went to The Sea of Galilee (water comes from the River of Jordan).  It was another beautiful day and just a great walk.  The view is tremendous (kinda like Bear Lake in Utah!).  Roly got a fake Rolex (we call it a RolyX......LOL).

Then we drove to where Roly went to high school!  Wait, I think I got it wrong........his first school was where we went last weekend.............hmmm, I'm forgetting now.  I think they were both kibbutz.  Anyway we did visit with some people that still live there that were there when he attended.  It was so nice to talk with them, ask questions and just enjoy their company.

OK, I'm just going to post this and the pictures and ask Roly for clarification later!!

Today we went to Caesarea National Park (situated on the Mediterranean coast in northern Sharon, between the Crocodile and Hadera River mouths.  It lies along side bays and shallow inlets that were formed by wave erosion in the "kurkar" range.  These bays were utilized throughout history for the anchorage of sea-going vessels).  It was a beautiful day.  We walked throughout the park, reading about the history, learning the culture and just enjoying the beautiful view.  This is the second time we went, unfortunately the first time it was cold and raining so I didn't take any pictures.  This time, it was a beautiful day but my battery ran out after the kibbutz!!  We will go again and I'll take pictures.

Before we went, we stopped at The Original Pancake House.  This is where Roly would "sneak" out of his kibbutz and work once in a while.  He said it looked exactly the same.  We told the waitress about this and she took my camera in the back and took pictures of them making our pancakes.  Then the pancakes came and they were SABBABA!!  (Awesome in Hebrew).  I hope Loreli gets to see this picture cause I know she loves chocolate chips on her pancakes.

SABBABA!!  What do you think Loreli?

Me and Elvis!
Then we actually drove through the kibbutz that Roly attended.  It has been run down some but appears they have built some new buildings.  I think this was a real stroll down memory lane for Roly.

This is where Roly stayed in the kibbutz

Soccer field and basketball courts (and their arch!) - really run down but they have new ones now.
